About the artist (copied from the Armstrong fine art website): "Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1928, Angelica Caporaso relocated to Paris in 1961, where she still lives.  A painter for all of her life, Caporaso is also an innovative printmaker.  She seems to have made prints at least from the early 1960s to the early 1980s.  It’s unclear exactly whether she started making prints earlier, but it obvious that her work at Stanley William Hayter’s Atelier 17 in the 1960s was very influential to that part of her work.  Many beautiful intaglio and viscosity prints came out of her hands during those years.  In 1969 Caporaso and another Parisian transplant (from the United States) Jean Lodge, founded their own painting and printmaking studio.  Caporaso also made color woodcuts, which are very reminiscent of Lodge’s layered compositions.  Most of her work tends towards abstraction, but figures, towns and cities, and nature, can often be found inhabiting her spaces."
